A 62-year-old man died Wednesday following a one-vehicle accident, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.
Steven Eugene Hovde, Forest River, N.D., died following the crash, which occurred at about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday about two miles west of Voss, N.D., on Walsh County Road 15.
The patrol said Hovde was westbound on the county road in a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado truck when the crash happened. The truck entered the north ditch of the county road, traveled a short distance, then vaulted across a driveway before coming to rest upright in the ditch.
The patrol said Hovde’s passenger, Jeannie Lynn Stockert, 47, Forest River, was transported by a personal vehicle to Unity Hospital, Grafton, N.D. Hovde refused to be transported to the hospital and remained with the vehicle, the patrol said. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found Hovde had died.
Hovde and Stockert were not wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
The crash is under investigation.
