Bennion ties for fifth in Dickinson
Jamestown High School freshman Sierra Bennion shot an even 90 at Dickinson’s Heart River Golf Course on Thursday, as she finished in a tie for fifth place to lead a truncated Blue Jay girls golf team.
Jamestown High School freshman Sierra Bennion shot an even 90 at Dickinson’s Heart River Golf Course on Thursday, as she finished in a tie for fifth place to lead a truncated Blue Jay girls golf team.
Bennion and teammate Maria LeFevre were the only two golfers competing for the Blue Jays, as coach Dean Kraft chose to let the rest of his young squad compete at the JV level on the long course. LeFevre tied for 11th with a round of 98, as Bismarck took top team honors with a score of 354.
Heart River Golf Course played difficult on Thursday, as just four total golfers shot under 90. Williston’s Kayla Barke earned medalist honors with a round of 78.
The Jays next travel to the Bismarck Invite on Monday.
