One injured in two-car crash

One person was injured in a Monday crash that caused an estimated $10,000 in damage, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
The accident happened at 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and 11th Street Northwest.
Shaun Schafer, 26, 1306 Fourth Ave. NW, was driving a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Fourth Avenue approaching the intersection of 11th Street.
Erwin Fischer, 59, 1206 Third Ave. NW, driving a 2010 Ford with a trailer attached, stopped at the intersection.
Fischer started to pull out and noticed Schafer approached and accelerated to avoid a collision.
Schafer saw Fischer, applied the brakes, and put the motorcycle in a slide and collided with the trailer.
Schafer reported injuries sustained from when he put the bike onto the ground, otherwise known as road rash. He declined an ambulance ride to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and said he would get transportation in a private vehicle later.
There was an estimated $8,000 in damage to the Yamaha and $2,000 to the Ford.
Fischer was cited for failed to yield after stopping.
