Class B roundup: Carrington sweeps Blue Jay JV team

Madison Wendel tallied six kills and two blocks to pace Carrington High School to a 25-12, 25-17, 25-18 sweep of Jamestown High School’s junior varsity in volleyball action Thursday night in Carrington.

Madison Wendel tallied six kills and two blocks to pace Carrington High School to a 25-12, 25-17, 25-18 sweep of Jamestown High School’s junior varsity in volleyball action Thursday night in Carrington.

The Cardinals were also highlighted by Breanna Barton’s four aces. Kayla Hochhalter added four kills and 10 digs, while Hannah Lipetzky finished with seven digs and four kills.

Jamestown’s Morgan Wampler had a team-high three kills. Beka Hilgemann had five aces and two kills, and Meghan Orr added 12 digs.

Amanda Beckley’s 10 kills, seven blocks, and six aces helped Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal to a 3-1 win over Central Prairie in Pingree.

Set scores were 21-25, 25-16, 25-12 and 25-18.

Lindsey Saxberg had 18 assists and four aces, and Shantal Albrecht finished with five kills, three aces and three assists.

Central Prairie, which started hot by winning the first game, was led by Noelle Moser’s 10 assists and four aces. Madi Moldenhauer had five kills.

Brenna Schmidt pounded out 10 kills and added 13 digs, four aces and a block as Napoleon swept Kidder County 25-22, 25-18, 25-21 in Napoleon.

Brianna Wolf had nine kills, and Kecia Ellison and Mariah Jangula each added six, while Kendra Weigel finished with 18 assists for Napoleon, which also got 18 digs from Shania Gross.

Kidder County received a team-high six kills from Brittany Bartlett. Erica Kahl and Jordan Johnson both finished with five, though Kahl also added a match-high 22 digs.

KaLee hack had eight kills and Shayna Mertz added seven kills, 15 digs and three aces in the win. Ellendale’s serving played a big part, as it finished with 25 aces on the night.

Edgeley-Kulm’s Ashley Boom had team highs of nine kills and seven blocks. She also had eight digs.
