Guard celebrates opening of camp addition

The North Dakota National Guard is celebrating the opening an addition to the Camp Gilbert C. Grafton Readiness Center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday recognized the $11.8 million project, which includes the alteration of 11,500 square feet of the original building and an addition of more than 41,000 square feet.

CAMP GRAFTON, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota National Guard is celebrating the opening an addition to the Camp Gilbert C. Grafton Readiness Center.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday recognized the $11.8 million project, which includes the alteration of 11,500 square feet of the original building and an addition of more than 41,000 square feet.

The facility will house the 136th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, the 3662nd Maintenance Company Component Repair Company and the Camp Grafton Annual Training Site Detachment.

The renovation provides space for administration, classrooms, unit supply, kitchen, physical fitness, weapons vaults, a locker room and vehicle storage.
