Jamestown Fire Department calls Aug. 24-Sept. 6:

Aug. 24: 10 a.m., ready squad responded to 5855 Third St. SE, Cavendish Farms, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: broken sprinkler head. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.

Aug. 27: 6:44 p.m., ready squad responded to 1300 Second Place NE, Eventide at Hi-Acres, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.

Aug. 27: 8:15 p.m., fire department responded to 1510 Western Park Village, to investigate a gas odor. Firefighters checked the area with a gas meter, none was detected. Cause: unknown. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 55 minutes.

Aug. 29: 3:20 p.m., fire department responded to 611 11th St. NE, multi family dwelling, to a report of a fire on second floor. Firefighters extinguished a small fire on the deck in a flower pot and investigated. Cause: discarded smoking materials. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 25 minutes.

Aug. 30: 10:32 a.m., ready squad responded to 300 Second Ave. NE, Jamestown Business Center, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: testing system. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 15 minutes.

Aug. 30: 3:20 p.m., ready squad responded to 1910 27th Ave. SE, Butler Machinery, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: accidental alarm activation.

Sept. 1: 1:10 a.m., ready squad responded to 300 Second Ave. NE, Jamestown Business Center, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: water flow switch. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.

Sept. 1: 9:35 p.m., ready squad responded to 1401 Gardenette Drive No. 1, multi family dwelling, to investigate smoke alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: alarm malfunction. Smoke alarm was reset. Time out: 35 minutes.

Sept. 3: 11:12 a.m., ready squad responded to 112 Sixth Ave. SE, group home, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: residue from stove. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.

Sept. 4: 7:04 p.m., ready squad responded to 501 19th St. NE, Ave Maria Village, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: systems malfunction. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.

Sept. 6: 1:47 p.m., ready squad responded to 419 Fifth St. NE, structure under construction, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: dust. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 40 minutes.
