Class B football: Sargent Central tops Rebels

Mason Madcke got the scoring started as Edgeley-Kulm’s tailback made it 6-0 early in the first quarter. The Rebels (0-4) trailed just 20-14 at halftime as James DeLaurier hauled in a 30-yard scoring pass from Logan Hanson.

But Schreiner had the lone score of the third quarter and added two more in the fourth as the Cadets squared their record at 2-2.

Hanson had another touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for the Rebels, hitting Austin Case from 17-yards out.

South Border 62, Stras.-Zeeland 6

South Border improved to 3-1 by running past Strasburg-Zeeland 62-6 in Region 1 9-man action Friday night.

Another big night by Blake Bosch carried the Mustangs. Bosch piled up 182 yards on just 22 carries with TD runs of 14, 19, 1 and 2 yards as Central Prairie scored 40 first-half points. Brayden Kuntz added 54 yards rushing on 11 carries while Demetrius Seymore amassed 55 yards on only 5 carries.

Nicholas Kramer had an 83-yard run in the second quarter to account for the Clippers’ score.

LaMoure-Litchville-Marion’s Brady Thielges ran in touchdowns of 52, 10 and 29 yards in the first quarter, helping the Loboes hang 38 first-half points on the scoreboard, as the Loboes rolled to their second win of the 2012 season.

L-L-M quarterback Jared Meikeljohn hooked up with Kenny Hodem for TD passes of 47 and 49 yards in the second quarter. Ellendale got on the scoreboard in the third on a 72-yard scamper by T.J. Belmore.

The Cardinals fell to 0-4 on the season.
