Lind wins title, 3 Jays qualify for state

Alex Lind captured a diving title and the Jamestown girls swimming and diving team picked up three new state qualifiers in a 131-54 dual loss to Fargo North on Friday night.

Lind had 236 points to win 1-meter diving, while Annie Hart, Kamie Wagar and Camille Kawasaki each qualified for state.

Wagar qualified in two events, swimming a 26.80 in the 50-meter freestyle and a 1:00.25 in the 100 freestyle, both were good for second place. Hart swam a 2:26.47 in the 200 freestyle for second place and Kawasaki’s 27.66 in the 50 free placed her fifth and also qualified her for state.

The 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays each placed second. Results can be found on B3.

The Blue Jays compete in a dual at Minot at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
