Two men died in separate accidents in North Dakota on Saturday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Jeremy Radar, 40, Casselton, N.D., was westbound on Interstate 94 about two miles west of West Fargo, N.D., at 11:12 p.m. when, for reasons not yet known, the KIA Sedona sport utility vehicle he was driving entered the median. The SUV traveled in the median, vaulted when it reached a drainage ditch/coulee and struck the west concrete embankment of the drainage ditch. Witness and first responders removed the driver from the vehicle to perform first aid, the patrol said. Radar died of his injuries at the scene. The patrol said he was not wearing a seat belt.
The patrol said the vehicle caught fire and burned after the driver was removed from the vehicle.
The other crash occurred at 11:40 p.m. Saturday on Traill County Road 21, nine miles east of Buxton, N.D. The patrol said Alexander Knutson, 26, Climax, Minn., was eastbound on the county road when he lost control of the 2005 GMC truck he was driving. The truck entered the ditch and rolled. Knutson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and found by a passing motorist, the patrol said. He died of his injuries at the scene.
The pickup was totaled. The crash is under investigation, the patrol said.
