Authorities identify Minnesota man killed working on ND water project

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man who died when he was struck by a backhoe bucket while working on a water project in Bismarck.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man who died when he was struck by a backhoe bucket while working on a water project in Bismarck.

Police say 36-year-old Lucas Volker, of Sartell, Minn., died Sunday afternoon while working in a trench installing pipe.

Volker was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Authorities are turning over the investigation to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
