Letter to the editor: Berg’s negative attacks are not ‘the North Dakota way’

Between now and the election, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is going to spend $3.1 million in TV ads to try and convince us that Heidi Heitkamp should not be in the U.S. Senate. If my math is right, that’s almost $50,000 every single day.

Between now and the election, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is going to spend $3.1 million in TV ads to try and convince us that Heidi Heitkamp should not be in the U.S. Senate. If my math is right, that’s almost $50,000 every single day.

And that doesn’t count money from the Berg campaign, the state Republican Party, and the millions of dollars that SuperPACs are willing to spend.

Berg must believe it is the only way he can win the election. His record as our congressman has been anything but impressive. His constant attacks on Heitkamp haven’t worked. His message of deception isn’t fooling North Dakotans anymore.

All he can do is double down and hope that this unprecedented wave of negative attacks will somehow turn the race in his favor.

So much for “the North Dakota Way.”
