Laura Kraft finished just outside the top 20 in her first meet of the season.

The former Blue Jay star, and now a sophomore at the University of Missouri, finished the 54-hole Chip-N Club Invitational at the Country Club of Lincoln, Neb., with a round of 81 on Tuesday. The score was one shot better than her second-round total on Monday.

Kraft finished as the No. 3 scorer for the Tigers, who struggled as a team Tuesday and were overtaken by SMU for the team title, 903-908. Kraft posted a 2-over par 74 in her opening 18 holes on Monday. She finished with a 3-round total of 237. The meet featured 75 players from 16 different schools on the 6,075-yard, par 72 course.

North Dakota State was third at 932 and led by tournament runner-up Amy Anderson (74-73-74), who was caught and passed by SMU’s Alexandra Rossi (70-81-68—219) for medalist honors.

Sarah Storandt, who went head-to-head with Kraft on numerous occasions during her high school career with Fargo Shanley, finished tied for 13th at 232.

Kraft and the Tigers are back in action Sept. 17-18 at the Wild Eggs Cup Classic in Louisville, Ky.
