Jimmies win third straight game

The Jamestown College women’s soccer team is on a roll.

The Jimmies scored two goals in each half en route to a 4-2 road victory over Mount Marty (S.D.) on Wednesday for their third straight win.

Brooke Winson got the Jimmies on the board in the 16th minute and they never trailed. The Lancers (2-3) tied it at 1-all, but the next three goals all went to Jamestown College.

Brittany Cochran made it 2-1 at 26:36.

Gabrielle Lane scored less than 90 seconds into the second half to make it 3-1. Jolynn Warnes tacked on a fourth goal to all but seal it in the 61st minute. Cochran and Warnes also had assists on the two first-half goals.

Kayla Byle stopped seven of the nine shots she faced in goal for the Jimmies, who improved to 3-3-1 overall. Both JC soccer teams head to Iowa for back-to-back games against Dordt on Saturday and Briar Cliff Sunday.
