Jaws compete in state meet

The Jamestown Jaws swim team had 10 state qualifiers compete in the 2012 N.D. Long Course State Championships at the Bismarck Aquatic Center July 27-29.

The Jamestown Jaws swim team had 10 state qualifiers compete in the 2012 N.D. Long Course State Championships at the Bismarck Aquatic Center July 27-29.

Competing for the Jaws were Luke Allen, Chea Baugh, Tyler Bjorgaard, Hunter Boehm, Grant Curtis, Malik Krahler, Cody Lange, Jessica Moritz, Andrew Oslund and Madisen Prasek.

Lange captured a team-leading five medals in the meet. Lange, 11, took silver in the 200 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 50 backstroke and 400 freestyle. He also earned bronze in the 200 free.

Andrew Oslund, 16, captured two medals including a gold-medal effort in the 100 free. He also took silver in the 50 free.

Grant Curtis, 17, won silver in the 800 free for the Jaws team.
