Sept. 7: 2:21 p.m., the fire department responded to 819 13th Ave. SW (single-family dwelling) to a report of a fire in an oven range. Fire was out upon arrival of fire units. Firefighters extracted smoke and investigated. Cause: grease. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 30 minutes.
Sept. 9: 12:28 p.m., the fire department hazardous materials team responded to two miles west of the Spiritwood Interstate 94 exchange to a report of diesel fuel leaking from semi truck. Firefighters used floor dry to absorb fuel. State health and transportation departments were notified of the incident. Cause: punctured sandal tank on semi from road debris. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 1 hour.
Sept. 10: 5:48 p.m., the ready squad responded to 2400 Eighth Ave. SW (Bison 6 Cinema) to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: burnt food. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 10 minutes.
Sept. 12: 4:29 p.m., the ready squad responded to 2404 Circle Drive (North Dakota State Hospital Tomkins Building) to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: faulty detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 15 minutes.
