Imdieke notches 300th career victory

Linton-HMB’s Mike Oien ran in a pair of scores and also returned a fumble 14 yards for a touchdown, while Brooks Flyberg tossed a pair of TD passes for 11 and 56 yards, as the Lions ran away with things against the Grovers in Class A Region 1 football action in Linton on Friday night.

Linton-HMB’s Mike Oien ran in a pair of scores and also returned a fumble 14 yards for a touchdown, while Brooks Flyberg tossed a pair of TD passes for 11 and 56 yards, as the Lions ran away with things against the Grovers in Class A Region 1 football action in Linton on Friday night.

The Lions’ defense stood tall all night, not allowing any points. Linton-HMB found itself ahead 32-0 at the half.

Linton-HMB improved to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in Class A Region 1 with the victory, while Fargo Oak Grove is still searching for its first win of the season.

The victory was Linton-HMB coach Dan Imdieke’s 300th of his career.

Milnor-NS 33, Kidder Co. 17

Milnor-North Sargent got three touchdown passes from Briton Bussman to defeat Kidder County for its first win of the season.

Wyatt Mund had two TD catches in the victory for Milnor-North Sargent, while Bussman threw for 209 yards.

Ryan Sand had two touchdown passes for the Pirates, who remained winless at 0-4. John Magnusen added a 36-yard field for the Pirates to account for the game’s first score.

Tanner Kessel and Leier each had interceptions for the Pirates. Kessel also registered a team-high 16 tackles.

Class AA Grafton 34, Lisbon 14

Grafton quarterback Christian Lunde ran for touchdowns of 6, 3 and 10 yards, and also hooked up with receiver Austin Conteras for a 20-yard pass and score, helping Grafton defeat Lisbon by 20 in a Class AA East Region matchup in Lisbon.

The Spoiler put up 28 of their 34 points in the first half, taking a commanding 28-7 lead into the break. Lisbon quarterback Dylan Urbach passed for both of the Broncos’ scores in the game, the first to Wyatt Aberle for a 42-yard score, and the second an 80-yard pass to Nathan Mangin.

Both teams now have a win and a loss in the East Region.

Valley City 14, GBC 7

A two-yard touchdown scamper by Valley City’s Jack Jensen in the third quarter was the difference for the Hi-Liners at Griggs Barnes County.

The Titans held a slim 7-6 advantage over the Hi-Linerss in the third quarter, after GBC’s Derek Fletcher scored on a 2-yard run to answer a Valley City touchdown in the opening frame. A pass and catch from Valley City’s Austin Svenningsen to Tayler Lentz on the two-point conversion produced the final score.

The Hi-Liners improved to 2-1 on the year and 1-1 in the East Region.

9-man LaMoure-L-M 62, Edgeley-Kulm 23

Anthony Olson scored three different ways to help LaMoure-Litchville-Marion run past Edgeley-Kulm 62-23 in Region 1 action.

Olson caught touchdown passes of 30 and 50 yards from quarterback Jared Meiklejohn for the Loboes’ first two scores. Later, Olson had a 53-yard dash for a score and then returned an interception 49 yards for another 6.

Brady Thiegles also had a big night. The junior running back had TD runs of 71, 75, 5 and 43 yards in the win. Meiklejohn also threw a TD pass to Kenny Hodem that covered 30 yards.

Logan Hanson had a 30-yard scoring strike to Austin Case for the Rebels’ opening touchdown. Lucas Madcke and Joshua Foley added TD runs late.

Napoleon-G-S 18, South Border 6

The Imperials picked up a pivotal win over the visiting South Border Mustangs in Napoleon.

Napoleon-G-S allowed just one rushing touchdown, a 21-yard scamper by Adam Jacobson, to the Mustangs in the first quarter, and the Imperials’ defense stood tall thereafter.

The Imperials’ Trent Fettig rushed for a pair of touchdowns, and he also found Dylan A. Bitz for a 20-yard touchdown reception in the final quarter.

Fettig ended the game 139 rushing yards. South Border’s Blake Bosch rushed for just 52 yards on 16 carries.

Napoleon improved to 4-1 in Region 1, while the Mustangs fell to 3-2.

Alex Perleberg ran in the game-winner in overtime, a 2-yard touchdown run, to keep New Rockford-Sheyenne’s undefeated alive with a huge 48-42 OT victory over the visiting Cavalier Tornadoes in New Rockford.

Both teams entered the contest undefeated, as the Rockets improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in Region 2.
