One dead in semi rollover crash

A Bowman, N.D., man died Friday afternoon in a semi rollover crash in Slope County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The patrol said Jerry W. McPhearson, 47, Bowman, was driving a 1994 Kenworth with a load of hay bales north on a rural road about 28 miles northwest of Amidon, N.D., en route to a rural residence from Hettinger, N.D., on Friday. At about 4:30 p.m., he failed to negotiate a curve and the Kenworth entered the ditch, tipped over and came to rest on its driver’s side.
McPhearson was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been wearing a seat belt.
The Kenworth was totaled in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
