Jamestown College’s George Gauld has been named the Association of Independent Institution’s Athlete of the Week.

Gauld, a 5-foot-11 sophomore forward from Epsom, England, had back-to-back 2-goal games for the unbeaten Jimmies last weekend in their wins over Dordt and Briar Cliff in Iowa.

Gauld now has 5 goals and 1 assist on the season for the Jimmies, who are 8-0 and ranked second in the Independent rankings and could be headed toward a spot in the NAIA Top 25 poll. The new rankings are released today.

The Jimmies are back in action on Wednesday when they host Mount Marty (S.D.). The women’s match begins at 2 p.m. with the men to follow.
