JC men’s soccer team remains outside top 25

The unbeaten Jamestown College men’s soccer team remains outside the NAIA top 25 rankings.

The unbeaten Jamestown College men’s soccer team remains outside the NAIA top 25 rankings.

The 8-0 Jimmies received 56 points in voting in the poll released Tuesday. That is the 31st-most of any team. Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) is ranked 25th and received 108 points in the poll.

The Jimmies, who host Mount Marty (S.D.) today at 4 p.m., are ranked second in the Independent Conference rankings behind only 701 Ashford, Iowa, which is ranked 17th nationally.

Jamestown College has never been ranked in the program’s 5-year history. Their 8 wins are just 3 short of the school record of 11, which they had last season.

The NAIA volleyball rankings were also released Tuesday. Jamestown College did not receive any votes, which is primarily a function of their lack of matches the last two weeks. With their 3-0 win over Dickinson State Tuesday night the Jimmies (10-2) have played just four matches this month.
