FARGO (AP) — Students at a North Dakota high school have raised more than $7,000 to help a family whose home was destroyed by fire in a North Fargo mobile home park.
WDAY-TV reported that Stephen and BobbiJo Garcia and their four children escaped the fire on Labor Day weekend, but were not able to save anything from the home.
After hosting fundraisers for the Garcia family for two weeks, students at Fargo North High gave the family a check on Friday.
BobbiJo Garcia said the money helps a lot because the family’s house was a total loss.
The Garcia family is staying with relatives until they can find a new home.
