Becker earns weekly A.I.I. award

Jamestown College’s Sarah Becker has been named the Association of Independent Institution’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Becker, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker from Rochester, Minn., led the Jimmies to a 4-1 record last week. Becker, a junior, totaled 65 kills with a .476 hitting percentage. She also tallied 14 blocks, six digs, and one assist as the Jimmies defeated Dickinson State, Valley City State, South Dakota Mines and Mayville State.

The 13-3 Jimmies have two upcoming home games. They host Valley City Friday night and Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) on Saturday. Both matches start at 7 p.m.

Becker is the third Jimmie to win the award this season, joining quarterback Gus Ramasco and George Gauld of the unbeaten JC men’s soccer team.
