Victim in fatal crash identified

A Buxton, N.D., man died early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle accident on a Traill County road, according to Lt. Aaron Hummel with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
John Twamley, 28, was traveling westbound on Traill County Road 21 approximately 5 1/2 miles east of Buxton in a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the north ditch.
The vehicle then struck an approach, went airborne and rolled into the north ditch.
Twamley was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle when it rolled over.
The crash was discovered by a passerby at approximately 8:10 a.m. Sunday, according to Hummel, and the crash was believed to have occurred around 2 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP. The crash was discovered at about 8:10 a.m. Sunday by a passer-by, according to the report.
