Mandan voters approve $12.5M elementary school
Residents within Mandan's public school district have overwhelmingly approved a $12.5 million bond issue to build a new elementary school to deal with anticipated enrollment growth.
MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — Residents within Mandan's public school district have overwhelmingly approved a $12.5 million bond issue to build a new elementary school to deal with anticipated enrollment growth.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that the measure passed Tuesday with 78.3 percent approval of the 2,581 people who voted.
Superintendent Mike Bitz says the goal is to have the new school open by August 2014.
Bismarck and nearby Lincoln also are slated to a new elementary school and Bismarck is getting another high school.
