BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Belcourt man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a crash that killed a woman on Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation.
U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 30-year-old Kolman J. Gourneau faces a maximum penalty of eight years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
Authorities say Gourneau was intoxicated when he left a Belcourt bar last October and struck a woman with his vehicle. The woman died from her injuries.
Sentencing is slated for Jan. 7 in Bismarck.
