Falcons, Rockets ranked fourth in polls

With big region wins coming last week, the Maple Valley-Enderlin and New Rockford-Sheyenne football teams remained fourth in their respective polls this week.

With big region wins coming last week, the Maple Valley-Enderlin and New Rockford-Sheyenne football teams remained fourth in their respective polls this week.

MV-E (5-0) topped Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock and hosts Northern Cass in a showdown this week between the two teams in Region 1 with unbeaten region records. Stanley-Powers Lake remained first with all 13 first-place votes. Heart River and Larimore was second and third, respectively. Northern Cass rounded out the top five with Hazen and Oakes receiving votes.

New Rockford-Sheyenne blasted Hillsboro-Central Valley and welcomes in Finley-Sharon-Hope-Page on Friday. Wyndmere-Lidgerwood is still top-ranked with nine first-place votes, though North Star isn’t far behind at No. 2 with four first-place votes. Divide County (third) and Shiloh Christian (fifth) were also ranked. TGU, Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter and Cavalier received votes.
