More than 50 middle school and high school students gathered around school flag poles in Jamestown Wednesday to pray for fellow students, teachers, community and the U.S., as part of the annual global day of student prayer.
“Awaken,” from Ephesians 3:14-21, was the theme for See You at the Pole 2012.
To celebrate the day’s events, youth groups from seven churches in Jamestown gathered for a rally that evening at Temple Baptist Church, which included a concert from Wisconsin-based Christian rock band Lightswitch.
It was the 22nd anniversary for See You at the Pole, a student-initiated and student-led movement that started in Texas in 1990.
