MSU worried about standards changes

BISMARCK (AP) — New entrance standards for North Dakota’s university students also make it more difficult for schools to offer tuition discounts to students.
Minot State University students said that’s a big reason why there is opposition to the changes on their campus. Minot State is close to the Canadian border, and the school has a large number of Canadian students.
Those students get charged the same tuition rates as North Dakota residents. Changes approved by the state Board of Higher Education will make that more difficult.
Minot State junior Roger Herrmann said Canadian students may stay home if they have to pay higher tuition at the school.
