Special events

Day Dream Polka Party, noon to 3 p.m., Knights of Columbus Hall, 519 First Ave. S, Jamestown. Dance to Marv & the Moonlighters. Admission: $8, includes a German dinner of sausage, sauerkraut, German potato salad and kuchen. Proceeds benefit Ave Maria Village Day Dream Project to support residents’ daydreams.

Karen Bane book signing, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sheyenne Riverbend Farm Fall Festival, 3716 117th Ave. SE, Valley City. No admission charge.

Roughrider Association Rodeo Finals, 6 p.m., Jamestown Civic Center. Tickets: $20 adults, $10 children.

Oktoberfest, Stutsman County Fairgrounds. Noon to 5 p.m., family-oriented events; 3 to 5 p.m., home brew tasting, $5; 5 to 8 p.m., food and beer. Tickets: $30, available at the door.

Whoever Can Come Band jam session, 1 to 4 p.m., Barnes County Historical Society, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City. Bring an instrument to play along; no admission.

Pingree Heritage Day Harvest Celebration, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. lunch, Pingree Community Center. Cost: $10. Lunch includes ribs. Silent auction follows meal.

Sheyenne Valley Arts and Crafts Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fort Ransom, N.D. Music, arts, crafts, food. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for ages 6 to 14 and free for preschool or younger.
