Becker notches second straight A.I.I, AOW honor
Jamestown College volleyball player Sarah Becker earned top honors in the Association of Independent Institutions for the second straight week, picking up her second A.I.I Female Athlete of the Week award on the season
Jamestown College volleyball player Sarah Becker earned top honors in the Association of Independent Institutions for the second straight week, picking up her second A.I.I Female Athlete of the Week award on the season.
Becker, a 6-foot-1 junior middle blocker from Rochester, Minn., guided Jamestown to a perfect 2-0 week with 3-0 sweeps over Valley City and Dakota Wesleyan. She finished with 23 kills and a 62.9 percent attack rate in the two matches.
She also helped the Jimmies improve to 15-3 on the season with eight blocks.
Valley City State University running back Derek Elliott earned the A.I.I Male Athlete of the Week award. The Valley City product amassed 219 total yards and scored three touchdowns in a 39-28 loss to South Dakota School of Mines and Tech.
Becker’s second consecutive AOW honor is Jamestown College’s fourth of the season. Jimmie soccer player George Gauld and Jimmie Football player Gus Ramasco have also notched the weekly honor.
Jamestown College finished last season garnering 11 A.I.I Athlete of the Week awards.
