Mary’s Fridley resigns as coach
A successful women’s basketball coach at the University of Mary is quitting. Fred Fridley says he’s joining Sanford Health as director of public affairs for central and western North Dakota.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A successful women’s basketball coach at the University of Mary is quitting.
Fred Fridley says he’s joining Sanford Health as director of public affairs for central and western North Dakota.
Fridley, a native of Watford City, compiled a 170-91 record in nine seasons. The Marauders were 19-11 last season.
Mary advanced to three national tournaments and won two conference titles under Fridley. He coached four All-Americans and 15 all-conference players.
Fridley had only one losing season.
The Dickinson Press reports that Rick Neumann will serve as acting head coach.
