Widows’ retreat held recently

Fourteen women attended a widows’ retreat hosted by the Jamestown Area Grief Support Team held Sept. 14-16. Seven members of JAGST staffed the retreat held at Maryvale Retreat Center in Valley City, N.D.
The weekend included a panel titled “Becoming A Widow;” group sharing and discussions; massage and reflexology sessions; sessions on how to express grief; information on wellness and nurturing and a Service of Remembrance. Special guest speakers were Tracy Johnk from Jamestown Regional Medical Center with “When Grief Becomes Depression,” and Jeanne Putman, a grief recovery specialist from Wahpeton, N.D., with “Where Do I Go From Here: The Journey to a New Normal.” For more information about the widows’ retreat or any of the programs offered by the JAGST, email jagst@jagst.org or call Brenda at 701-952-6886.
