NDPRD seeks apps for LWCF grants

The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department (NDPRD) is seeking applicants for approximately $300,000 in federal grant monies available for outdoor recreation projects through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department (NDPRD) is seeking applicants for approximately $300,000 in federal grant monies available for outdoor recreation projects through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

The Land and Water Conservation Fund is a 50/50 matching grant program administered at the state level by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department and funded at the federal level by the U.S. Department of Interior, National Park Service (NPS). The LWCF provides grants for outdoor recreation projects such as ball fields, pools, campgrounds, playgrounds, and land acquisitions for park development.

The application cycle opens Oct. 15 with a deadline of Dec. 14 at 5 p.m.

Applicants may request grant amounts ranging from a minimum total project cost of $30,000 and project sponsors must have 50 percent of the total cost available at the time of application. Applications will be online at http://www.parkrec.nd.gov/ click on grants.
