Fire calls for Oct. 6, 2012

Jamestown Fire Department calls Sept. 21-Oct. 4:

Sept. 26: noon, ready squad responded to 1121 Second Ave. SW, single family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters checked for carbon monoxide and detected 47 ppm. Occupants were advised to stay some other place for the night or until repairs were made. Cause: unknown. Time out: 40 minutes.

Sept. 28: 5:37 p.m., fire department responded to 220 Hillcrest Drive, single family dwelling, to a report of smoke coming from clothes dryer. Firefighters checked the clothes dryer and extracted smoke. Cause: burnt belt. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 35 minutes.

Sept. 29: 12:45 p.m., ready squad responded to 1509 10th St. NE, Jamestown High School, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: faulty duct detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: one hour, 10 minutes.

Oct. 1: 8:38 p.m., ready squad responded to 733 11th St. NE, multi-family dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: intentional alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.

Oct. 3: 12:29 p.m., fire department responded to 12th Avenue Southeast, North Dakota State Hospital entrance, to a report of a power pole on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire after the power was cut. Cause: unknown. No firefighter injuries. Time out: one hour, 10 minutes.
