New Methodist bishop announced
Bruce R. Ough has been assigned to be the Bishop of the United Methodist Churches of North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. He will be installed at 3 p.m. Sunday at Fargo First UMC.By: Forum Communications, The Jamestown Sun
FARGO — Bruce R. Ough has been assigned to be the Bishop of the United Methodist Churches of North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.
He will be installed at 3 p.m. Sunday at Fargo First UMC.
It is rare for a United Methodist Bishop to serve in his or her home state. Most bishops are assigned to serve outside of their home territory.
Ough is a native of Williston, N.D., attended North Dakota State University. He has served the United Methodist Church throughout the world, most recently in Ohio.
