Class B roundup: No. 3 Rockets move to 7-0

The No. 3-ranked and undefeated New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets stayed that way on the road against Dakota Prairie in Region 2 high school 9-man football action on Friday night.

New Rockford-Sheyenne standout Ethan Haley ran in four touchdowns in the first half, helping the Rockets lead 28-6 at the half, and New Rockford-Sheyenne coast to 7-0 overall with a 50-12 victory over the Knights.

Haley’s first-half touchdown scampers of 25, 28, 1 and = 15 yards, were complemented with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Haley to Chance LaBrie in the third, giving Haley five TDs on the night. Alex Perleberg also rushed in a pair of touchdowns for the Rockets.

Austin Berdal ran in a 1-yard TD in the second, which Kasey Flaagan hooked up with Chris Brogdon in the fourth for a 53-yard TD pitch-and-catch, accounting for all of Dakota Prairie’s points.

Park River-F-L 20, Harvey-WC 14

Park River-Fordville-Lankin’s Cole Rehovsky ran in a pair of touchdowns covering 6 and 1 yards, as the Aggies edged Harvey-Wells County in a Class A Region 2 clash.

The Aggies led 14-6 at the half, and a 5-yard TD run by Chad Jelinek in the third gave Park River-F-L all the points they’d need to improve to 4-3 overall. The Hornets dropped to 3-4.

The Griggs Barnes County Titans overcame a 6-0 halftime deficit, scoring 12 unanswered after the break to pick up its first win of the 2012 campaign.

Wyatt Steckler got the Titans on the board to tie things in the third with a touchdown run of 2 yards. Griggs Barnes County went on to ice the game in the fourth, as Timmy Erker found Jacoby Kramlich for a 58-yard touchdown pass.

The Titans are now 1-6 on the season, while Kindred fell to 1-6.
