Three people were injured in an ice-related accident at 2:27 a.m. Saturday, 37 miles west of Jamestown on Interstate 94, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Jennifer Maul, 50, of Watford City, was driving a 2007 Dodge pickup west on Interstate 94 near mile marker 221. She had stopped at the rest area and was getting back up to traffic speed when she crossed the railroad overpass, which was covered in black ice.
Maul lost control of the vehicle and it entered the west ditch, where it overturned and came to rest on the driver side.
Maul and her two passengers, a 14-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy, were all transported by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
The crash remains under investigation.
Assisting the NDHP at the scene were the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, the Kidder County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Regional Ambulance.
