N.D. man pleads to lesser charges in fires

A Fort Totten man accused of beating two young boys and setting fire to the bedroom where they slept has pleaded guilty to three lesser charges.

FARGO (AP) — A Fort Totten man accused of beating two young boys and setting fire to the bedroom where they slept has pleaded guilty to three lesser charges.

The Forum newspaper reported that 30-year-old Lyndon Greybear pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and one count of endangering by fire or explosion.

Assistant Cass County State’s Attorney Leah Viste said prosecutors agreed to drop two counts of attempted murder as part of the plea agreement.
