Jimmies’ Reyes earns weekly A.I.I. award
Jamestown College’s Aleona Reyes has been named the A.I.I.’s Female Athlete of the Week.
Jamestown College’s Aleona Reyes has been named the A.I.I.’s Female Athlete of the Week.
Reyes, a junior from Belen, N.M., won the Roe Granger Open Saturday in Aberdeen. Reyes won the meet for the second straight season, cutting 15 seconds off her time from last year, and she finished 17 seconds ahead of the runner-up finisher.
Reyes, an NAIA All-American last season, won in a time of 19 minutes, one second.
Valley City State’s Derek Elliott was named the Male Athlete of the Week after the former Hi-Liner accounted for 301 yards of offense and five touchdowns in the Vikings’ 61-35 win over Mayville State on Saturday. Elliott ran for a school-record 258 yards in the game.
