Letter to the editor: Eventide, staff made a difference in recovery

Three months ago I was diagnosed with an infection in my brain. I had surgery in Fargo July 8. One month later I was admitted to Eventide at Hi-Acres. I was very depressed because my right arm and leg were paralyzed. However, the staff at Eventide would not give up on me. The speech, physical and occupational therapy worked with me and encouraged me all the way. The nurses, CNAs and everyone always told me how well I was doing. By the time I came home last Friday I was able to walk partially without my walker. I made numerous friends and will stay in touch with them. Also, last Friday there were so many people from the staff in my room, including upper management. The staff there is very special. I observed them working with the other patients. All of them were kind, patient and nice.

Thank you so much Eventide and all the staff there.
