Tim Burchill, outgoing Kiwanis president, introduced the new president, Sandy Franke, at last week’s meeting.

Franke talked about her goals for the coming year. She said that it was Don Bentz who asked her to join Kiwanis four years ago. She said she would like to see the club grow this year, even if by only a couple. She said she is very excited about the International Eliminate project and looks forward to making more money for that this year. She would also like to do “Kids Against Hunger” again this year as people in the community are asking about doing it.

Franke led the meeting with 24 members attending. There were four guests attending, Lowell Eckland, from Oregon, Dr. Alyssa Hanson and Becca Spenningsby, prospective members, and Mitch Brecto’s wife, Teresa. Don and Sharon Caine led the group in singing and Wes Hart collected “Happy Dollars” for the Salvation Army.

Kenrad Pederson will introduce someone from the Young Professionals of Jamestown at the noon Oct. 15 luncheon meeting at the Lantern Room.
