Jamestown College head women’s basketball coach Greg Ulland announced that Ashtin Freije of Edmore has verbally committed to play for the Jimmies beginning in 2013.

“I chose Jamestown College because it is the number one college I have grown up with since I was a little kid,” Freije said in a press release. “I also really like the campus, the people, and the location of the college. Jamestown is also where my mom went to college and I’ve seen how much success she has had with sports and her job choice so I want to achieve this success as well.

“Ashtin was singled out right away as someone we want at JC,” Ulland said. “Her drive and competitiveness, versatility playing multiple positions, great leadership skills, and athleticism are just a few things that stuck out with Ashtin. We are so excited to have her joining the Jimmie family.”

Freije is also active in volleyball and choir. She plans to major in Biology at Jamestown College. She is the daughter of Doug and Bonnie Freije.
