Crafters of St. James Basilica Tabernacle Society and the community are invited to begin making Christmas stockings for deployed military, homebound, nursing home residents, prisoners, students of Anne Carlsen Center and others.

Christmas fabric and patterns will be available. If people have extra Christmas fabric they are asked to bring it, along with fabric scissors.

Participants will cut out the stockings at the Parish Center at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Sewing will be done in homes before the next meeting, Nov. 19, when they will be filled and sorted for delivery.

People are invited to send the names and mailing addresses of deployed military men and women to Mary Olson, 1531 Sixth Ave. NE, Jamestown or mkol

son@daktel.com so they can be included in the military Christmas mailing.

Letters are also requested to “Any Service Member” wishing him/her well at Christmas. They will be included in stockings. Almost 100 North Dakota Guardsmen are deployed in Afghanistan at this time, in addition to other military.

Donations of items for stockings (decks of cards, word find, Sudoko, etc.) and money for expenses are appreciated.

For more information, contact Mary at 952-1989.
