Stenehjem sues contractor for fraud

North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem is suing a Minot flood contractor for consumer fraud.

BISMARCK (AP) — North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem is suing a Minot flood contractor for consumer fraud.

Stenehjem said he has sued Michael Frederick for failing to complete promised work for people trying to recover from flooding in Minot. Frederick runs Fredericks Contracting LLC.

The lawsuit was filed in Northwest Judicial District Court in Ward County on Friday.

Stenehjem said Frederick took advance deposits from several consumers in Minot and did not complete the work. He also did not have a contractor’s license with the Secretary of State.

A phone number for Frederick or Fredericks Contracting LLC could not immediately be located.
