FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man still on probation for violent crimes has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly kicking another man in the head until he was bleeding and unconscious.
The Forum newspaper reported that Sha Raymond Littlewind, 25, of New Rockford, is charged with attempted murder and simple assault in connection with an attack that occurred Wednesday in Fargo. Bail was set at $500,000.
According to a police affidavit, Littlewind told police he got into an argument and then started kicking and stomping the victim's face. He also told police he “wanted to kill” the victim, according to court documents.
Assistant State's Attorney Renata Selzer told a judge Friday that Littlewind is a danger to the community and the victim is in “very serious” condition. A Sanford hospital official said the victim's family has requested that his condition remain confidential.
A witness told police that Littlewind was drinking and then started attacking the victim. The witness said that Littlewind also attacked him when he tried to intervene.
The Forum reported that court records show Littlewind pleaded guilty in 2010 to a felony terrorizing charge in Ramsey County after he threatened to kill his girlfriend and their infant child. Court records also show Littlewind pleaded guilty in 2011 to child abuse in Ramsey County after he admitted to holding a knife to the throat of his 1-year-old daughter.
