Two first-half goals were enough for the Jimmies to notch their eighth win of the season.
Brittany Cochran scored less than three minutes into Monday’s match against Northwestern College to spark Jamestown College to a 2-1 win over Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minn.
Cochran’s unassisted goal just two minutes, 25 seconds into the game gave the Jimmies an early edge.
Later, Nikki Martineau made it 2-0 Jamestown College less than 10 minutes before halftime.
Northwestern scored the only goal of the second half shortly after intermission, but that was all the Eagles got. Lindsay Halvorson was credited with the goal for 6-7-1 Northwestern.
Kayla Byle turned away the other nine shots she faced in goal for Jamestown College.
The Jimmies (8-5-1) put 10 shots on frame in the contest as Emily Johnson finished with nine stops for the Eagles.
Jamestown College continues its all-road game October with back-to-back games this weekend. The JC men and women both play Saturday at Ashford (Iowa) and Sunday against Mount Marty in Mitchell, S.D.
