GRAND FORKS — An Ardoch man was arrested Sunday on various charges after a report of a suspicious person in Grand Forks County.

The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Department responded to a rural Fordville address early Sunday on a report of an unwanted and suspicious person in the area, the sheriff’s department said in a press release Monday. Deputies talked to Scott Lamont, 49, of Ardoch, who said someone had been chasing him, and he ran out of gas.

Deputies determined Lamont was under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested him. Deputies seized a large amount of cash, methamphetamines, marijuana, numerous drug paraphernalia items and a concealed weapon, the release said.

Lamont was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, several possession charges, carrying a concealed weapon, ingesting a controlled substance and no liability insurance.
