Three Bosnian refugees accused of selling counterfeit catalytic converters in South Dakota have been ordered to pay more than $64,000 in restitution to recycling companies in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Three Bosnian refugees accused of selling counterfeit catalytic converters in South Dakota have been ordered to pay more than $64,000 in restitution to recycling companies in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Authorities said the bogus auto equipment had been imported from China and did not contain the precious metals typically found in catalytic converters.
The three men in their early thirties had North Dakota addresses when they were arrested.
