Cave withdraws appeal increase

A Jamestown woman convicted on manslaughter and criminal conspiracy charges in Southeast District Court has withdrawn her appeal.
Janelle Cave, 22, was convicted in February in the death of Abdi Ali Ahmed, 18, on April 30, 2011. She was sentenced to 11 years in prison on the criminal conspiracy charge and eight years on the manslaughter charge to be served concurrently.
Her appeal was filed with the North Dakota Supreme Court on May 24, and withdrawn on Oct. 11. The court issued an order of dismissal on Oct. 12.
Also convicted in Southeast District Court in the crime was Leron Howard, 35 Jamestown. Howard was convicted of murder and criminal conspiracy on Aug. 23. His sentencing is set for Nov. 14. He faces up to life in prison without parole.
