ND woman allegedly took Special Olympics donations

A Bismarck woman is accused of stealing $4,300 in donations meant for Special Olympics.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck woman is accused of stealing $4,300 in donations meant for Special Olympics.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that 39-year-old Rachael Murray is charged with misapplication of entrusted property, a felony that carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison upon conviction.

Court files do not list an attorney for her. A telephone listing for her is no longer in service.

Authorities allege Murray took the money from a Special Olympics athlete who had solicited donations, and failed to turn it in to Support Systems Inc., which employs people to mentor people with disabilities.
