Fire calls for Oct. 20, 2012

Jamestown Fire Department calls Oct. 12-18:

Oct. 13: 6:42 a.m., fire department responded to 1014 17th St. SW, Neighborhood Grocery, to a report of a light pole on fire. Fire was out upon arrival of fire units. Cause: unknown. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 25 minutes.

Oct. 13: 1:51 p.m., ready squad responded to 1201 Second Ave. SW, single family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters checked for carbon monoxide and detected 0 ppm. Occupants were advised to stay some other place for the night or until repairs were made. Cause: battery. Time out: 35 minutes.

Oct: 16: 5:08 p.m., ready squad responded to 312 First Ave. N, Century Link, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: detector head. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.
